Terms of Service

Last updated 23 August 2026

These terms apply when you order a manufactured part from HardCopy Labs. Ordering a part means you accept them. If you do not agree with them, please do not place an order.

1. Who we are

HardCopy Labs is a made-to-order 3D printing service operated by HardCopy Labs LLC, a Florida limited liability company. You can reach us at ben@swinglellc.com.

HardCopy Labs LLC
6630 SW 57th Ave, Apt B403
South Miami, FL 33143
United States

2. What we do

We manufacture physical objects to order from 3D models that you supply, and ship them to you. We are a manufacturing service, not a retailer. We do not hold stock, and every item we produce is made specifically for one customer after that customer has approved a price.

3. How an order is placed

There is no shopping cart on this website. Orders are placed through our connector inside a Claude conversation, in this sequence:

  1. You submit a 3D model, either as an STL file or as OpenSCAD source that we render.
  2. We run automated printability checks and confirm the part fits one of our machines.
  3. We return a single quoted total, inclusive of shipping.
  4. If you accept, you are sent a Stripe Checkout link and pay through Stripe.
  5. Once payment is confirmed, the job enters our queue and we begin production.

No order exists, and nothing is manufactured, until payment is confirmed. A quote is not a contract; the contract forms when you pay and we accept the job into the queue.

4. Quotes and prices

Every quote is calculated from your specific model — its volume, the material you choose, and the machine time it requires. The quoted total is the amount you pay. It includes standard shipping within the United States. We do not add surcharges after the fact.

Quotes are valid for 14 days. If your model changes, the price is recalculated. Prices shown on this website are illustrative examples for typical geometry, not a fixed price list.

We reserve the right to decline any job, including after a quote has been issued. If we decline a job you have already paid for, you receive a full refund.

5. Your model and your rights in it

You keep all ownership of the models you send us. By submitting a model, you grant us a limited licence to store it, process it, render it, and manufacture it, solely to fulfil your order and to provide support such as a reprint.

You confirm that:

  • you own the model, or otherwise have the right to have it reproduced;
  • manufacturing it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, patent or design right; and
  • the object is lawful to make and to own where you live.

We do not sell, publish, or reproduce your model for anyone else. We are not able to verify the provenance of a model, so responsibility for infringement rests with you.

6. What we will not manufacture

We decline, at our sole discretion and without obligation to explain, any request involving:

  • Load-bearing or safety-critical parts. Anything that carries a person, supports a vehicle or structure, or bears a load where failure could cause injury. This includes climbing, diving, medical, automotive, aviation and lifting equipment.
  • Firearm components, ammunition components, or parts designed to modify a weapon.
  • Parts you do not have the right to reproduce.
  • Anything unlawful, or intended to facilitate something unlawful.

7. The nature of a printed part

Fused-filament 3D printing is a physical process with real limits, and you should order with those limits in mind:

  • Parts are built in layers and are measurably weaker across the layer lines than along them.
  • Visible layer lines, minor surface texture, and small marks where supports were removed are normal and are not defects.
  • Dimensions carry tolerance. Do not assume a press fit or a thread will work first time without testing.
  • PLA softens in a hot car. PETG and ABS tolerate more heat but are not heatproof.
  • Colours vary between filament batches and will not match a screen exactly.

We manufacture the geometry you submit. We do not review your model for whether it is fit for the purpose you have in mind, and we are not responsible for a design that does not work as you intended. A part from us is a prototype, a fixture or an object. It is not a certified component and carries no engineering certification of any kind.

8. Cancellation, refunds and shipping

Cancellation and refund rights are set out in our Refunds & Cancellations policy. Delivery timeframes and carrier terms are in our Shipping & Fulfilment policy. Both form part of these terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost time, or damage caused by a part failing in use.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

10. Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of an order, are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any such dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and you and we each consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force for your order is the version published when you paid. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
